How Music Therapy Helped Me Heal the Loss of My Father

Music Therapy

Music has always been more than just sound to me. It has been comfort, expression, and sometimes the only language that could reach the depths of what I was feeling. But it wasn’t until I lost my father at the age of nineteen, the man that loved me with all his heart, and I was daddy’s little girl that I truly understood how powerful music could be in the journey of healing.

Grief changes you.

It turns your world upside down, shakes the ground beneath your feet and forces you to look at life differently. In the silence of my loss, I often turned to music, not just to distract myself, but to sit with my feelings, to remember, to cry, and eventually, to hope again. How Music Therapy Helped Me Heal Father's Death Loss Grief Support Voices of Heaven Music became a safe space where I could feel deeply without judgment and begin to slowly rebuild. As I journeyed through my own healing, I realised I wanted to use my love for music to help people like you who might also be carrying pain. That desire led me to music therapy. It was as though all the threads of my life, my passion for music, my heart for people, and my own lived experience of loss were being woven together into something meaningful.

Music therapy isn’t about performing or being “good at music.” It’s about connection.

It’s about connecting you, helping people like you find a voice when words feel too heavy or creating space where emotions can be expressed safely. How Music Therapy Helped Me Heal Father's Death Loss Grief Support Voices of Heaven For me, it’s about sitting with people in their hardest moments and using the universal language of music to remind you that you are not alone. Losing my father gave me the determination to make a difference in the lives of others, to walk alongside those who are hurting, and to offer music as a bridge toward healing, wholeness, and hope. This is why I began Voices of Heaven™: to create a space where little hearts and big hearts alike can feel, express, and connect through music. So, if you’re wanting to learn to feel, express and connect again, get in touch with me today!
